Take Time
02:50
|
|
||
I know a guy who’s always in a hurry
Won’t stop for nuthin’ and he likes to worry
Gotta climb the ladder keep the ducks in a line
When I try to take him fishing he
Ain’t got the time so I say
Take time to do what you want
Take time it won’t cost you a lot
Take time to help out your friends
Take time and time will be your friend
Take time
I got a friend who works down at the station
Been two years since he’s taken a vacation
Gotta make the payments on that new bungalow
Got a new fishing boat but
No time to go,so I say
The best things in life are free
You can’t take it when you leave
No need to worry stress or strive
No one makes it out of this life alive
My girlfriend at the diner works until eleven
Takes her kids to school and starts again at seven
Gotta clean the house and try that new recipe
She got a new TV but no time to watch with me so I say
My daddy worked till the day he died
But he gave me this piece of sage advice
Son you don’t need to stress or strive
No one makes it out of this live alive
So climb on in and we’ll go fishing
You’re gonna see what you’ve been missing
We’ll watch the bobbers dance and just
Sit in the sun – just you and me getting
Nothing done, and we’ll just
Take time to do what we want
Take time it won’t cost us a lot
Take time to be with a friend
Take time and time will be our friend
Take time

All I Can See
03:22
|
|
||
Well I’ve tried to let you go, but no
Matter what I do
I can’t erase the memories of
Me and you............then
On a date when I can hardly wait to
Meet this new girl who
Might take your place, when I see her face all
I can see is you
I found a new apartment on the
Other side of town
Traded in the ragtop, for this
Old Ford truck I found
And now I’ve got a new friend who
Licks my face and who
Sleeps on your pillow but each
Night I dream of you
I never go to our old haunts never
Do the things we’d do, but
Still your memory taunts me there’s
Nothing I can do, I Think I’m going crazy, just
Can’t get over you and
It’s so plain to see all
I can see is you
You should have seen this party that
I went to last night
There was Jack and Charlie Daniels and we were
Dancin in the full moonlight
And I woke up with a stranger, who
Looks a lot like you, but
When she throws the covers off all
I can see is you
My friends they try to cheer me up and
Get you off my mind
They tell me I’ll get over you
Tell me I’ll be fine
I’ve tried everything I know to
Change my point of view but
It’s so plain to see
All I can see is you
Can’t you see it’s plain to see you
Really should come back to me and
When you do you will agree all
I can see is you

Big Foot
04:17
|
|
||
Some folks say, he lives in the woods
Prances out of the darkness, he’s up to no good
Big as a mountain, all kind of hairy
Itchin’ and a scratchin’, looks kind of scary
He’s a big bad don’t make him mad
Better be glad he ain’t your dad Bigfoot
Sasquatch he’s the boss, take his time ain’t
Got a watch Bigfoot
Sheriff’s daughter was hangin’ up the wash
Felt a tap on her shoulder, it was old Sasquatch
Some folks say, they fell in love right there
When he held her tight as they danced all night
At the county fair
He’s a big bad don’t make him mad
Mama says Boy he looks like your Dad Bigfoot Sasquatch he’s the boss, anybody seen my Dental floss? Bigfoot
All the guys she knew before
Always left her wanting more
He makes her heart go pitter-patter
Whoever said that size don’t matter?
Now some folks say they live in the woods
And they’re raisin’ a family, got a coupe of kids
And in the moonlight you can see them prance
And you can bet your bottom dollar they’ll be
Takin’ first prize at the county dance
She’d never felt like this before
He never leaves her wanting more T
here’s a lot to love when you’re 8 foot 3
And living at the top of a big oak tree

Felt Like Heaven
03:36
|
|
||
I got tired of all this cold and snow hopped a
Plane to New Orleans
Walked down to Bourbon Street in my
Boots and old blue jeans
There inside the Famous Door I met the
Pretty little Delta queen
I said I think I’ve just seen an angel
And then the devil got a hold of me
Are you the one I’ve been dreaming of? Good
God almighty must be sent from heaven above
Way too young but son of a gun that night I Fell it felt like
heaven but I’m goin to Hell
I was sitting on a bar stool when she
Came and grabbed my hand, she said
“You look like you’ve got rhythm
And I’ve just got to dance”
Well who was I to argue, I was just a
Victim of circumstance and it was
One for the whiskey, two for the show
We got a little out of hand
She said are you the one I’ve been dreaming of?
Good God I think I might be falling in love
Distinguished guys really ring my bell
I believe in love I don’t believe in hell
We danced until our legs gave out
Drank our share of beer
I don’t recall too much at all
After we got out of here
Yeah, things got a little fuzzy
But we sure had a ball
I woke to find a lipstick kiss
And this writing on the wall
You’re not the one I’ve been dreaming of
And I don’t think I’m falling in love
But it felt like heaven and that’s alright
Cause I had a hell of a time last night
Momma said “love’s sweet and life is short”
You got to live for today
When love comes knocking at your door
You best answer right away
Well I grabbed my bags and I checked out
Caught the first plane home
When I unpacked I found a note
Between the toothpaste and the comb
It said when you are in New Orleans
And if you’re feeling all alone
Just call me at this number
And I’ll make you feel at home
Cause you’re the one I’ve been dreaming of
When I just wanna dance and I just wanna have fun
It’ll feel like heaven and that’s alright
And we’ll have a hell of a time that night
Cause we had a hell of a time last night

Senchi
02:09
|
|
||
On the river the peaceful river a
Boat lies waiting upon the shore
Take my hand and we’ll row together
To Senchi Ferry once more
Up in the sky, someday I’ll fly
Like a bird so free
Until that day, this boat is my way
To Senchi, Senchi Ferry
On the ocean, the mighty ocean
A ship is sailing upon the sea
Many treasures lay deep inside her
She’s bound for Senchi Ferry
Up in the sky, someday I’ll fly
Like a bird so free
Until that day, the ship knows the way to
Senchi, Senchi Ferry
In the village, the peaceful village
A treasure lies waiting for all to see
Take my hand and we’ll walk together
And you and I shall read
Up in the sky, now I can fly
Like a bird so free
The whole world you see
Is waiting for me
Here in the library
In Senchi, Senchi Ferry

Door Of No Return
05:21
|
|
||
There is only one way out
When the key is turned
Lift the chains and shuffle through
The Door of No Return
Say goodbye to Africa
It’s time to take your turn
One by one to exit....through
The Door of No Return
The Govenor sells his soul for you
The ship waits on the shore
Say goodbye to all you knew
The Door of No Return
Say goodbye to Africa
Goodbye to all you’ve learned
There is only one way out
The Door of No Return
My father was a farmer
And I his only son
I spent my days in fields of green
Beneath the Ghana Sun
They promised me a better life
Now for my life I mourn
As I wait in darkness for
The Door of No Return
The dungeons of Elmina sit
High above the shore
Two will die for each one through
The Door of No Return
Centuries of Slavery
and still the key was turned
Millions of my brothers
Through the Door of No Return
My sister too was taken
I know not where she’s gone
She spent her days in fields of green
Beneath the Ghana sun
They promised her a better life
Now for her life I mourn
As I wait in darkness for
The Door of No Return
Today the dungeon holds no more
Lesson to be learned
Never will there be again
A Door of No Return
My sisters and my brothers live
As free men for we’ve burned
Forevermore, the slave trade door
The Door of No Return

Everybody Can Sing
02:36
|
|
||
Everybody’s got a song in their heart you don’t
Have to sing like Elvis or be a rock star
Put a quarter in the juke box belly up to the
Bar, tonight everybody can sing
Everybody’s got their favorite song
Get up on the dance floor and just sing along
Tonight were gonna party till a new day dawns
Tonight everybody can sing
Heel toe, dosey-do, rhythm and blues and
Rock and roll music, it’s all fine
Two-step, Led Zep, Beach Boys, make some noise
Everybody’s singing and we feel good tonight
Everybodys got a tune they can sing
You don’t have to sound like Ella you just
Do your thing – buy the band a beer
and Let those High notes ring
Tonight everybodys got a tune they can sing
Reggae, Dock of the Bay, Motown, hoe down
Music, is so fine
Hillbilly, Waylon and Willie, hip-hop can’t stop
Everybody’s singing and we feel good tonight
Everybody’s got a song in their heart you don’t
Have to sing like Elvis or be a rock star
Put a quarter in the juke box belly up to the
Bar, tonight everybody can sing
Everybody’s got their favorite song
Get up on the dance floor and just sing along
Tonight were gonna party till a new day dawns
Tonight everybody can sing
Tonight everybody can sing

Moose On The Loose
02:54
|
|
||
There’s a moose on the loose and I don’t
Mean to be obtuse but I’m a running just as fast as I can
Must have missed him kind of pissed him when I
Fired my gun now I’m running like the Bionic Man
I’m in a pickle he ain’t fickle now he’s
Gunnin for me and I can almost see the
Whites of his eyes
If I can make it to the lake before he
Tramples my face I just might make it
Out alive
Help me help me
Lord please help me
I didn’t mean to make him so mad
Help me help me
Lord please help me
This might be the worst day I’ve ever had
Eight days I stayed and strayed in the woods
Hunting for the moose of my dreams
Then I heard somethin’ hearts a pumpin’ he comes
Humpin’ along biggest critter I’d ever seen
There was barely any light when I
Got him in my sights and I
Pulled that trigger down before you
Knew it man I blew it now he’s gunning for me
And I’m a runnin’ at the speed of sound
Help me help me
Lord please help me I sure could use a pair of wings
Help me help me
Lord please help me I promise I’ll do anything
I’ll cut the grass, I’ll
Take out the trash
Bad vices will all disappear
You get me out of this alive
I promise you that I’ll
Even stop drinking beer well, maybe....
I was almost out of gas I didn’t
know how long I’d last when I
Reached the lake and jumped right in well now the
Moose was all confus-ed cause he really wasn’t
Used to seeing someone hanging out on a limb
So there I was a hangin’ from a
Big old branch a dangling on the
End of that big oak limb
‘Cause the thing that I forgot that ever
Since I was a tot, I
Never learned how to swim
Save me save me Lord please save me
I’ve lost my grip and I’m going down
Save me save me Lord please save me
A few more seconds I’m gonna drown
I finally lost my grip began to
Slip into the drip that’s when that Moose looked down at me well it might
Sound parapetetic but I
Looked so darn pathetic that the
Moose felt sorry for me
So he jumped in ‘cause he could swim and
I hopped on and rode along and
Kissed and hugged him for my rescue
That’s when she woke me up she handed
Me my coffee cup and my
Friend the moose is still on the loose

My Mothers Hands
02:46
|
|
||
From a world of silent beauty a
Haven wet and warm
High above the Mississippi River
I was born
And into this body and
Unto this land
I was delivered into
My mother’s hands
Terrified and trembling
Blinded by the light
Helpless and hungry
A woman dressed in white
Wrapped me in a blanket
Like sun on desert sand
I felt the warm embrace
Of my mother’s hands
All the tears I was crying
Sweetly fell and washed away the pain
She held me through the night
Locked in a prison this
Wooden crib my cell
No one seemed to hear me when I
Cried and when I yelled
Then to my desperate dungeon
To my side she ran
Reprieved and gently reassured
By my mother’s hands
And when she had grown weary
Her body ached and still she found the strength
To hold me through the night
As I walk this world and wonder
Try to understand
What will become of me when I
Grow to be a man
When I need reassurance
Stick my fingers in the fan
My wounds are always quick to heal
In my mother’s hands
These gentile gifts that I’ve received
from my mother’s hands,
These gentile gifts that I’ve received
from my mother’s hands

Daddy Where Are You
05:25
|
|
||
Was a hot still night in August
Mama said “It’s time”
It hurts so bad I wish that dad were
Here with me tonight
Call Uncle Bill and see if he will
Take me to St. Ives
For nine months now I’ve carried this child
And daddy where are you?
He learned to walk, he learned to talk
Daddy bought a bike
Momma said someday he’d show him how to make it fly
But daddy never found the time
He learned it on his own
And now he rides the streets at night
Hey dad, you want to come along?
And it goes on in his heart
And it goes on in his head
Making a hole whenever he was
Nowhere at all
And it goes on in his heart
And it goes on in his head
Making a hole whenever he said
Nothing at all
The clock was almost out of time
They had a chance to score
He got the call, he caught the ball
The crowd began to roar
He searched the stands to find the man
So proud of him today
“I’m sure you’re up there somewhere now
Hey dad, you see the play?”
In a bar somewhere in Texas, he
Sets the whiskey down
Thinks about the boy he never knew
There’s a hole deep down the wind blows through No drink can kill the pain
If I could do it all again
We’d play ball and we’d be friends and
Every day I’d walk the boy to school
One night as he lay sleeping
He thought he heard him call
His arms were wrapped around him
He couldn’t breathe at all
He never even said goodbye
Or held him in his arms
Now, nothing is better than nothing at all
Hey Daddy where are you?
Daddy where are you?

When Died The Queen
04:49
|
|
||
There was a man who had a grin
Walked the empty streets within the
City, the city
They say that once he was a king
Before the war when died the queen so
Pretty, so pretty
The gates were stormed, the city burned the
Queen and royal family turned to
Prisoners, to prisoners
He laid his life upon the line
The tower fell, the church bells chimed
In the city, in the city, she cries
Is there anyone here to help me?
Is there anyone here to save me?
Is all lost again? Could this be the end?
Is there anyone here to hear me?
Is there anyone left to love me?
Is all lost again? Could this be the end?
So now he walks the streets alone
Dreams of days upon the throne
With his lady, with his lady
Some say the man has just gone mad
Toss coins into his open hands so
Gritty, so gritty, he cries
Is there anyone here to help me? Is there anyone here to save me?
Is all lost again? Could this be the end?
Is there anyone left to hear me?
Is there anyone left to love me?
Is she gone for good? I’d hold her if I could
Our lives have always been
Written in the wind
Who knows the path, who writes the book of
Where our lives will end?
One day she left a note that read
Our love is gone, our love is dead
His world ended, his world ended
His empire crumbled to the ground
No more a king, no more a crown
Undefended, unintended
He’ll cross the bridge, the cobblestones
An empty street, an empty throne
Through the city, through the city
Down winding streets the church bells chime
For a sentence passed without crime
What a pity, what a pity
Is there anyone here to save me?
Is there anyone left to love me?
Is she gone for good? I’d hold her if I could Is there anything left to live for?
If I could just hold her once more
I’d give averything, I’d give anything
There was a man who had a grin
Walked the empty streets within the city, the city

My Sunny Day
03:56
|
|
||
You are the girl of my dreams
I love you more than I love ice cream
I know, you’re my sunny day
You make me laugh, you make me cry
And I don’t even know the reason why
I love you, my sunny day
When people laugh there is a
Melody that plays
So get on board that magic carpet ride
And chase your blues away
You sing high and I sing low
You are my baby and I love you so
We’re happy, my sunny day
Every bird, every bee in a tree
Live together in harmony
Around you, my sunny day
So take my hand and walk with me
We’ll talk of possibilities
And dream the dreams that lovers dream
So twiddle dee , twiddle dum
My cotton candy, gonna get me some
My sweet thing, my sunny day
You are the girl of my dreams
I love you more than my old blue jeans
My sweet thing, my sunny day
